First visit to a Kidase (Liturgy) at an Ethiopian Orthodox church.
Took a trip up to Decatur Georgia to the D.H.K Gabriel Orthodox parish this Sunday. The Kidase was close to five hours long, not to mention the service prior, which was at least an hour. I discovered they celebrate Pascha on the same day as the Greeks and use the Julian Calendar (or their version of it) for the whole liturgical year. The Kidase was beautiful, the people were very loving and welcoming, and the Ethiopian food was outstanding.
The attached video is of this parish but it's a random service I found online. I was told they don't use drums or clap during Lent.
